The modelling activities are articulated around three main working streams:

  1. The development of a DSGE model of the Irish economy. The model will be a small economy. Around a core model a set of plug-in models are envisaged dealing with different issues, including a fiscal block, a banking-housing sector, and macro-financial linkages.
  2. The construction of structural models of the Irish economy to be used for a variety of purposes, including forecasting, simulations of policies, production of briefings and publications from both institutions.
  3. The updating and development of short-term forecasting and nowcasting models, and the development of models for analyzing specific aspects of the Irish economy.
