Niall Mc Inerney is an economist at the ESRI where his research focuses on the development of structural macroeconomic models of the Irish economy. Prior to joining the ESRI, he was a University Fellow at NUI Galway where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in macroeconomics and statistics. He holds a PhD in International Macroeconomics from Trinity College Dublin, as well as a B. Comm (International) and MSc in Economics from NUI Galway.

His research interests include real-financial linkages, international capital flows and term structure modelling.
